If you’ve been following along with the Fisherman Magazine’s reports, you have an idea of how good the striper fishing has been around the entire island. The entire South Shore is seeing an impressive run of big fish feeding around the bunker pods, taking rigged livies on circle hooks and larger spook-style plugs while the North Shore is hosting a quality jig bite fueled by the smaller baits in the water up that way anywhere from the western reaches, all the way out to The Race. Reports from Montauk are consistently indicating exceptional striper fishing on a mix of different size classes with all methods working.
