South Jersey Tournaments “Offshore” Season Is Underway

With bigeye, bluefin and yellowfin already on the prowl along the edge, the folks from South Jersey Tournaments will be kicking off the 2024 billfish season coming on July Fourth with the MidAtlantic Cup Blue Marlin Tournament.

This is exclusive blue marlin tournament presented by South Jersey Tournaments is a winner-take-all, one-day event with multiple weigh stations from Manasquan Inlet to Virginia Beach.  This event allows participants to depart at any time and from any inlet they choose and run as far as they want, with tournament fishing set to begin at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m.

Tournament entry for this July Fourth event is $2,000 with first place awarded to the heaviest qualifying blue marlin.  The optional MidAtlantic Cup Calcutta entry is $3,000.

Of course, South Jersey Tournaments is also gearing up for the 33rd MidAtlantic, sportfishing’s “Main Event” which is set for the week of August 18-23.  The annual MidAtlantic offshore event gets underway with a welcome cocktail party and late registration followed by a Captains Meeting on Sunday, August 18.

Canyon Club Resort Marina in Cape May serves as the tournament’s home port headquarters while Sunset Marina in Ocean City, MD serves as the second port’s headquarters and Sunday’s events will take place simultaneously at each venue. Fishing days are Monday, August 19 through Friday, August 23 and participants will select three of the five available days to fish.
