EVERGLADES DONATES 100K BOAT

On Sunday, August 19th, White Water Marine of Sayville, NY, will raffle off a brand new Everglades 243 Center Console as the grand finale to the Hamptons Offshore Invitational, a 9-day fishing event that is one of the Northeast’s most prestigious tournaments.

“We’ve raffled off boats for the tournament in the past, but this is the first Everglades and tickets are selling like crazy. It’s a beautiful boat and it’s getting a lot of attention," said Anthony Vaccaro, co-owner of White Water. 750 tickets were offered to the public at $100 apiece. The boat is valued at over $100,000.

Event Chair and Long Island native Scott Horowitz says, “I created this event to give something back to the community.” In its 12th year, the tournament has raised over a million dollars for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island. “This has always been a fishing community, so why not combine what we love doing with raising money for a good cause.”

Since 1977, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island has matched at-risk children with adult mentors to help them avoid risky behaviors so they can succeed in life. It is the oldest and largest youth mentoring organization in the United States. Bryan Harris, VP of Sales and Marketing of Everglades Boats says, “Our company has roots in the Northeast and we are happy to help support this cause. The 243 CC is a great boat for Long Island fishing.”

The raffle will take place at Oakland’s Marina in Hampton Bays. For more information, visit http://www.hamptonsoffshore.com/.
