Some interesting catches were included with the regulars last week. Multiple black drums to over 40 pounds were caught on the South Shore and several redfish to 30 pounds were also confirmed along the same side of the island. The consistent striper bite stayed true once again for those fishing both on the inside and outside. Fluking is seeing steady progression on both shores and even in Montauk. Scattered weakfish and porgies are maintaining presence in Peconic while those Boston macs we’ve been reporting in on are continuing to roam the North Shore. Bluefish are also taking better hold in Montauk now and join the striper population in the rips.
