You have to love it when ‘The Fourth’ falls on a Thursday because that means a 4-day weekend for many of us; which translates to lots of extra fishing time! But even if you have to work on Friday, don’t despair, there are tons of fishing options for whatever days you have off this weekend. The best striper fishing is spread between Boston and Downeast Maine, where fish from slots to slobs are being reported from boat and shore. Bottom fishing hot zones depend on your species of choice, western Buzzards Bay is hot for sea bass, and the New York side of Long Island Sound is the place to be for fluke.
