NJ/DE Bay Region Fishing Forecast – June 13, 2024

A 60.16-pound Manhattan Cup record striper leads us off this week in a 3-minute report from this legendary catch and release striper tournament out of Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City.  Clearly, Hutch finds it hard to believe it’s already June 13th and just one week out from the first official day of summer, and of course the final days of spring sea bass.  As black sea bass comes to a pause and jumbo stripers begin sliding east, we get the first cobia report of the season out of Manasquan as those bunker schools are attracting new visiting predators.   Sand eels are prevalent now as well which could jumpstart the yellowfin season, but certainly offers some fine jigging options in these waning days of black sea bass with a closer look on Open Boat.  We dig into this week’s digital edition of The Fisherman, getting all tangled up in blues, while looking ahead at upcoming tuna tournaments at the Jersey Shore.  Drum on the move and beachfront options for the summer surf with a look at the weekend weather forecast for fluking with dad.  A sweetwater update with the Pocono Outdoors Guy, a Father’s Day remembrance of sorts, a Dream Boat Fishing Challenge update and the return of South Jersey sheepshead heading into the summer of ’24.
